Stacey

Stacey began her journey in the funeral industry 22 years ago as a trainee embalmer in Wellington. Since then, she has worked in several funeral homes across the Wellington and Wairarapa regions, predominantly in mortuary care. Stacey is a fully qualified embalmer, having gained her New Zealand Diploma in Embalming and takes great pride in maintaining high standards of care.

Stacey joined Gary Pickering Funerals in mid-2026 as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, bringing with her a wealth of experience, warmth and compassion. Her varied background also includes working in aged care and the government sector, along with time spent living in the UK.

Having called the Wairarapa home for the past eight years, Stacey lives on a lifestyle block with her husband, Gordie, and their three children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending children’s sporting events and spending time with her beloved dogs and horses.

Stacey finds it a privilege to support families through difficult times, ensuring their loved ones are cared for with dignity and respect, and farewelled in a way that is personal and meaningful to them.
