Adelaide

As the Wairarapa’s youngest funeral director at the time, Adelaide Skeet (née Percy) began working for Gary Pickering Funerals in April of 2015. Adelaide brings a fresh approach and passion to Gary Pickering Funerals. Adelaide is also a qualified embalmer.

The granddaughter of Tony and Pam Percy, Adelaide’s family has a long history in the Wairarapa, specifically Bideford, stretching back 120 years. Raised in Masterton, Adelaide attended Wairarapa College before leaving the Wairarapa to study.

After living in Auckland studying paramedicine at AUT University, Adelaide returned to her home town of Masterton to start a new career and become a funeral director. Adelaide’s passion in life is caring for people. She also holds a National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Adelaide currently lives in Masterton with her husband Josh, their beautiful daughters, a dog named Bruza, and a cat named Sharon. When not at work Adelaide enjoys crochet, fish keeping and Terry Pratchett books.
