Mckenzie, Rae

Mckenzie, Rae Susan

8 February 1945 – 23 August 2025 (80 years)

Our mighty matriarch, most loyal supporter, fabulously inappropriate and incredibly loved wife, Mum, Nanny, and friend found her peace and reunited with her Mum and siblings Peter, Val, Dot, and Heather.

Loving wife and best mate of Peter for 58 years, loved Mum, Mum-in-law and naughty Nanny of Maria, Ruby and Flynn, Julia, Mark, Hannah and Emma, and Carrie, Jesse Rae and Sasha, and loyal friend to many.

We are so appreciative of the love and care the staff at Wairarapa Village gave to Rae these past 4 years, your kindness, friendship and beautiful hearts have made the world of difference to us.

Mum loved fun, light and laughter and we are going to celebrate her colourful and full life in The Village Chapel, 4-6 High Street Kuripuni on Wednesday 27th of August at 11am.

  6. Dear Peter, Ju, Maria, Carrie and all the family and grandies.
Rae was such a cool fun mischevious lady, I’m remembering she was soft and kind too. Mind you she could control and quiet a whole school with a loud ‘EEERRR excuse me….’
Today you say farewell to this precious wife/mum/nanny and that’ll be painful for sure. Sending love and praying for peace and laughter to continue on in your fabulous family. Suzanne Su’a
